GITA JEYANTHI CELEBRATION


“As Hindus there are plenty of things that we can be proud of Srimad Bhagavat Gita is the first on the list”.



            Gita Jeyanthi is the birthday of Bhagavat Gita. It’s calculated on Shukla Ekadashi in the Tamil month of Margazhi.


Gita Jeyanthi was celebrated in our school on 18th December.   Man. Radha Didi, Dhakshin Pranth Sankatak was the chief guest.  Our correspondent Sri.S.K.Subramanian and our principal presided over the function. The programme was started with lighting the lamp by Man. Radha didi. Bharatha Natyam on Krishna song was performed by students. Our teachers Mrs.  Vijaya Lakshmi  and Mrs. Muthu Deiva Nayaki read the message in English  & Tamil which was sent by Man. Nivedita Didi who is the vice president of Vivekananda  Kendra, Kanyakumari. Translation in Tamil was very superb. Radha didi appreciated the teacher who explained in Tamil. 

Our teacher Mrs. Lalitha Parameshwari chanted the slokas  from 17th chapter in Bhagavsat Gita. Students followed the chanting. Man. Radha didi gave the Inspiring speech about the importance of Gita Jeyanthi. In her speech,  she insisted the students to know the meaning of the slokas. As they are V.K.V. students, they should be role model to the society. Finally programme was concluded by Kendra prayer.

NAMASANGEERTHANA BHAJAN


          


Iskcon (Hare Rama  Hare Krishna)  and Thangamayil Jewellery team was conducted Namasangeerthana Bhajan at VKV, Vallioor on 23rd November 2018.


The programme was started with lighting the lamp by our Correspondent Shri. S.K. Subramanian. Shri. Mukunda Murari Dhas Swamigal from Iskcon created a conducive atmosphere in reaching God. He chanted the namavali (Hare Rama  Hare Krishna ) of Almighty Lord Krishna. He is well versed in all the modes of Nama Keerthana. His way of performing bhajan which attracts the students as well as teachers. He encouraged our students and staff to sing bhajans whole heartedly with proper voice. The whole hall filled with beautiful Music, enthusiastic, hand claps and devotional voice in harmony.


After bhajan 1050 students performed Deepa Aarthi to Lord Krishna with devotionally.

Finally prasatham was distributed to the students. Our respected, beloved correspondent Sri. S.K Subramanian gave away the memento to Iskcon member and Thangamayil Jewellery team. He arranged the function in a grand manner.

Sadana Diwas & The Inauguration of exhibition


 



“ High Thinking and plain living is a good principle but very difficult to practice”


We celebrated 104th birth anniversary of Man.Eknath Ranade (Founder of Vivekananda rock memorial & Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari) and the inauguration of science exhibition.

We initiated the programme with prayer song. Man.Hanumantha Raoji Treasurer, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari was the chief guest.    

     
 Sri.Raj Kumar, President of Viyaparigal sangam, Vallioor, Sri. Pon Thangadurai, Macro ITI, Vallioor and Sri. Franklin, Senior manager of SBI were the special guests. Various cultural programmes were conducted. Rama Charitham, Speech on Hindu religion, Dance about Vivekananda Kendra, Siva thandavam were highlights. 


The presidential address was delivered by Man.Hanuji. He shared the special qualities of Eknath Ranade and how he worked hard for the construction of Rock memorial.
Exhibition focused on a scientific and creative attitude.



     The exhibition seeks to encourage the students. Exhibition was divided into four section. They are Art, Science, Maths & Spiritual. All the rooms Rangoli were nice. Spiritual room was decorated by Bhagavath Geetha’s 18 chapter, the quotations of Man.Eknath Ranade, Display of Ramayana, Rangoli of Saraswathi were excellent. 


Due to children’s day celebration various competitions were conducted. Many students participated and won the prizes. Our chief guest  and  special guests distributed the prizes.

Finally the programme concluded by Shanthi Manthra.

Award Ceremony

“You  can follow your dreams  or reach the star wherever you go just follow  your heart”


         We glad to say that one of our teachers won the award in poem composing competition.
        After many specification, ‘Chennai’ name changed into “Tamilnadu” in 1968. To celebrate the 50th year (Golden Jubilee)  Tirunelveli Government museum  and Pothigai Tamil sangam joined and conducted the poem composing competition on  the topic  “Tamilnadu 50” on 26th October 2018 at Palayamkottai.  Many public people participated. They have selected  10 members from public people. Our teacher Mrs. M. Muthu Deiva Nayaki also participated in the competition and won the award also.
        It is indeed great news. We congratulate her achievement and all the best for writing more poems in future.

Vijaya Dasami & Vidhyaramba


“ May goddess saraswathi brightens our life with wisdom”





   In our school we celebrated Vijaya Dasami & Vidhyaramba in a grand manner on 19.10.2018. The ceremony commenced with devotional prayer  song by  our teacher. Next our teacher   Mrs. Muthu Deiva Nayagi welcomed the gathering.   

      Our chief guest Shri. Ayyappanji (Secretary of RDP, Vivekananda  Kendra ) made a great privilege to us and started the Vidhyaramba  celebration. Our correspondent Shri. S.K. Subramanian continued the Vidhyaramba with great inspiration. 

      Nearly 45 parents with their children participated interestingly in this function. Next our new kids wrote the great mantra ‘Ohm’ in the turmeric rice, an ancient tradition method. The celebration came to end with Kendra prayer.

SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS


“A champion needs a motivation above and beyond winning.”


With the blessings of Swamiji,  we have taken a step forward. Our students won the medal in the sports events. This is obviously a land mark of our school.

                   30th  South National Junior Athletics championships 2018 was held at Acharya Nagarjuna University at Gundoor in Andhra Pradesh on 15th & 16th September 2018.  Two of our students got medals.   R. Mahendran (XI Std) got  gold  medal in Javelin  throw.  His performance was  49.44 mts.   P.Selva Ganesh (XI Std) got silver medal in Discus throw.  His performance was 43.27 mts.  Winners were appreciated and honoured by our school correspondent Shri. S.K Subramanian, Principal Mrs. R. Andal, PET Masters, teachers and parents.

VINAYAGA CHATHURTHI CELEBRATION


“Lord Ganesh of curved elephant trunk and huge body,

Whose brilliance is equal to billions of suns in intensity,
Always removes all obstacles from our  endeavours”







The birthday of Lord Ganesha is celebrated as Vinayaga Chathurthi. Every year we celebrate the festival by preparing the idol of Lord Ganesha with the help of IX Std students. Vinayaga Chathurthi Celebration was celebrated from 13.09.2018  to 20.09.2018.  Each class worshiped Lord Ganesha by offering flowers and prasadam. Students chanted manthras during the pooja.
After completing the pooja the prasatham was distributed to the students and staff. The last day pooja was conducted by X, XI and XII std students in a grand manner on 20.09.2018. After the celebration the idol of Lord Genesha was taken by our students for Visarjanam. With the blessings of Lord Ganesha the ceremony was conducted very auspiciously.

UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY CELEBRATION



“ Sisters and Brothers of  America” with these words of swami Vivekananda, India’s message of universal brotherhood reverberated across the world”








Chicago address of Swamiji in the parliament of world religion on September 11, 1863. “ Sisters and brothers of America is celebrated every year as universal Brotherhood day in the world. As per the excellencies of the universal brotherhood day, it was celebrated on 11th September 2018 in our school premises.




A mammoth procession was started at the waving of flag by    Man. Radha Didi, Dhakshi Pranth Sankatak, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Man. Aparna Didi, All  India Vyavastha Pramukh was in the forefront. The procession was started from Vallioor Murugan temple and ended at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya which went through Perumal kovil, Vallioor Main road. The students’ band music was excellent. Swamiji’s inspiring thoughts and slogans were highlighted and  echoed  at the procession in which nearly 1050 students participated eagerly.

The various programmes like Bharatham, dance, drama were performed by students. To commemorate the 125th Swamiji’s Chicago address we have conducted elocution competitions in many schools.    Ramakatha dance was highlighted. Our chief guest Sri. Natarajan D.E.O. delivered a vibrant speech about universal brotherhood day. His interaction between the students was really interesting. He explained the difference between ‘ Teachers and Guru’  in his speech. 


Next Radha didi gave the wonderful speech. She also quoted Swamiji’s thought “Every soul is potentially divine”.  Next our  chief guest distributed the prizes to the toppers in the elocution competition which was conducted among Vallioor school students . Nearly 220 parents and 1450 students participated in the celebration. Finally programme was ended by Shanthi Mantra. Our correspondent Sri. S K. Subramanian arranged the function a grand one.

 “Let us remember the words of Swami Vivekanand and dedicate ourselves to furthering the cause of unity, brotherhood and world peace”.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

“Teachers plant the seeds of knowledge that will grow forever”.


We celebrate Teachers’ day every year throughout the country on 5th September. Students express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day. This day is dedicated to Dr.Radhakrishnan, former president of India, the great academic philosopher and great teacher.   As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday has been observed as Teachers’  day.
We decided that the responsibility of teaching was taken up by the students as an appreciation for their teachers. Nearly 172 students dressed as teachers. They have prepared lesson plan also. Students taught the lesson interestingly. Winners were appreciated by giving prizes.
Thus we are celebrating Teachers’   day every year meaningfully.

GOKULASHTAMI & RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATIONS

GOKULASHTAMI  &  RAKSHABANDHAN  CELEBRATIONS
“ May this Janmashtami shower on your blossoms of love and peace. May the divine grace be with you today and always”.


          “ Rakhi is a special occasion that reminds  of brothers & sisters lovely time that they have spent”.
The festivals Gokulashtami and  Rakshabandhan were celebrated with an intense fervour in our school. Sri. Gnana Sekaran senior lawyer, Secretary of Arivu  Thirukovil , Vallioor,  Sri. Karthikeyan, lecturer, TDMNS college,  Kallikulam were the special guests.The programme was started by lighting the lamp. Bharatham, Kannan dance were presented by students. They danced as Gopikas and Krishnas. Conversation on Krishnas’ birth and life was displayed by students. Our  students chanted slogans from Bhagavath Geetha.  Special guest Sri.  Karthikeyan talked about  Krishna’s life  and  how it was profound impact on Indian culture. He also shared his views about the origin of Rakshabandhan.   Sri. Gnanasekaran  advised the students to give respect to the parents and teachers. Students from each class were asked to tie Rakhi rope during the function. Some of our students tied Rakhi rope to dignitaries.   Uriyadi  by our Krishnas was very special. Our Kids from LKG to I std dressed as Krishnas and Radhas made our school as Brindhavan .   Prasatham was distributed to the parents and students . Finally programme was concluded by Shanthi Manthra.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN SPORTS


“You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going.”



The   33rd state level Junior Athlete event was conducted at Chennai on 17.08.2018. In the event, our school students   won   gold medals and they were selected to National level.
P. Selva Ganesh (XI std)    achieved two gold medals in shot put and Discus throw.  R. Mahendran (XI std) won gold medal in Javelin throw.
We are very proud to convey that our winners are going to participate in the National level athlete event in Gundoor, Andhra. Winners were appreciated and honoured by our school correspondent Shri S.K Subramanian, Principal Mrs.R.Andal,         PET Masters, teachers and parents.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION – 2018








 “ This  Independence  day  reminds  us  the  struggle  of  the freedom  fighters  who  sacrificed   their  lives  for our country”

        Independence day was celebrated in a grand manner on 15th August in our school campus. The chief guest Sri.  Damodaran  (president of Rotary club  central , Vallioor)  hoisted the national flag. Mr.Selventhiran (secretary of Rotary club central , Vallioor). Mr. Muthu Krishnan (Asst. Governor of Rotary club central, Vallioor), Mr. Dinesh and Vignesh, (Rotarians)  Mr. Chellappa  (Ex. president of Rotary club central, Vallioor) were the special guests. 
             The students made the celebration a grand one by  presenting different programmes like Bharathanatyam, different kinds of exercises, Yoga, Karate, Silambam, Hoops, Pyramid, Flag exercise, Patriotic dance and speeches about freedom in Tamil and English were delivered by the students.  Inspiring speeches were given by our honourable dignitaries  and they awarded  prizes to the students who scored more than 95% marks during the last academic year. On behalf of   Vallioor  Rotary club prizes  were  distributed to the students who got the highest marks in X std Govt board exam. After the celebration, sweets were distributed to students and parents. The celebration came to end with Kendra prayer. Our school  correspondent  arranged the function in a grand one.

Anna Pooja & Swamy Vivekananda Memorable Day Celebration

ANNA POOJA & SWAMI VIVEKANANDA MEMORABLE DAY CELEBRATIONS  2018


Every year Swami Vivekananda Mahasamadhi Day is being celebrated on 4th July. On the auspicious day,  we celebrated Annapooja in our school premises. Rice was collected and heaped up and Annapoorani statue was adorned. The ground was  beautified by flowers and Rangoli. The pooja was  started by lighting the lamp by our principal Mrs. Andal. The conversation about Anna pooja was displayed by the students. The Anna poorna stothram was chanted by the music teacher Mrs. Lalitha Parameshwari. Our teachers   Mrs. Muthu Deiva Nayaki & Mrs. Priyadharshini gave speech on significance of Annapooja. Students sang a song on Swami Vivekananda. The completion of the event was done by our principal Mrs. Andal by taking the Aarathi.  Finaly pooja was concluded by Kendra prayer.  Our correspondent Shri. S.K. Subramanian arranged the function in a grand manner.

Adventure Training to Students


        Adventure Training to  Students by Foundation for CSR @ Redington, Chennai


          We are very grateful to the Redington foundation for their valuable services.  This year the Redington foundation has introduced the adventure camp to our students to improve physically and intellectually. The students refreshed themselves through the new games and activities.  They participated in all the activities very enthusiastically.  The camp was conducted from 22.06.2018 to 23.06.2018.  The students of class VIII participated in the camp.  Nearly 55 students participated very actively and interestingly.  The camp was conducted by three eminent trainers Miss. M. Jasmine Mary,  Miss.  R. Kayalvizhi & Mr. Vincent Deva kumar. They explained about the merits of each activity.On the 2nd day the students shared their experience with the trainers.Our beloved Principal Mrs. R. Andal presented memento to our trainers. Our beloved correspondent Shri. S.K.Subramaniyan arranged the camp in a grand way. He saw the all activities and praised the trainers.

International Yoga Day Celebration

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
“yoga is a light, which once lit , will never dim 
The better you practice, the brighter the flame”.





The international yoga day was celebrated in our school premises on 21st June 2018. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Our honourable chief guest Mr. T. Kanagaraj (Deputy superindent of police) inaugurated the function and delivered a provoking speech about yoga.    Two of our wellwishers Shri Dharmar proprietor of Selvi Jewellery  &  Shri Chenthamarai Kannan (Proprietor, Valli Corporation) participated and made the function great made. Next our beloved teacher Mrs. Muthu Deiva Nayagi delivered the welcome address and explained about the importance of yoga. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried away. The school organized mass yoga demonstration for the students. The students of classes V – IX  performed yoga. Nearly 1100 students participated. More than 550 students from various schools participated in the event. Our correspondent Sri .S.K.Subramanian presented the memento to all the dignitaries and the teachers of other schools. The celebration was concluded with the Kendra Prayer. The function was arranged in a grand manner. Sweet was distributed to all the students.
